At the end of the day, there’s nothing more comforting than coming home to a beautiful bedroom. Whether your style is traditional, boho or contemporary, we can all agree that the perfect bedroom is one that promotes relaxation and rejuvenation.

If you’re feeling uninspired by the state of your bedroom, making just a few small changes can make a surprisingly big impact on your sleep space.

Color

The quickest way to reinvent your bedroom is to change up its color palette. Try rich jewel tones, such as deep plum and moss green, for a cozy, fall-ready atmosphere. For something a little more year-round, go with classic neutral shades like slate gray, cream or light blue.

Once you pick your color palette, make it consistent throughout the room. A disjointed color selection can make your bedroom feel cluttered. Add splashes of color by painting an accent wall, adding picture frames, and choosing the perfect throw for the foot of your bed.

Textiles

New textiles are essential to a bedroom makeover. After all, what fosters a relaxing atmosphere more than fabulous bed linens? Start with sheets. Do you want flannel for extra warmth? Percale to keep cool? Once you choose your preferred material, determine the color by referring to your duvet cover or throw blanket. Most likely, one of these components will have a print of some sort. In that case, look at all of the layers together to confirm that their colors, textures and prints coordinate.

Not only will new bed linens make your bedroom look drastically different, but they’ll make it feel different, too. Hello, sweet dreams!

Rugs

If a remodel of your bedroom floors isn’t in the cards for you this season, no worries. You can fake a big change simply by adding or removing a rug. If you currently have a rug in your bedroom, take it out for a rustic, bare-floors look. On the other hand, if your floor is bare (with either wood or carpet), experiment with adding an area rug or two. Adding single or overlapping rugs in different sizes and shapes creates a warm, comfy atmosphere perfect for fall and winter. Be sure your rugs complement the color palette you’ve already selected to ensure you craft a harmonious space.

Furniture

Last but not least, rethink your furniture situation. For a budget-friendly option, rearrange your bedroom furniture to give you a fresh perspective and utilize the space in a different way. For more permanent changes, consider brand-new bedroom furniture. Whether you’re looking for a bed frame with personality, nightstands with extra storage or an entire bedroom set, we’ve got options that will help you compose the bedroom of your dreams.

How will you be transforming the look of your bedroom for fall and winter?
